For me this is the one feature that has kept me from jumping on board the entire Affinity trio, which, in my case would be Photo, Designer, and Publisher. Every other thing I need to do these three software packages can handle with ease. But as someone who creates vinyl graphics, vector tracing ability is an absolute must. There is absolutely no way I could afford to spend the time you did in your workaround hand coloring or hand tracing an image in order to then use a third party tool to then accomplish this simple task.
